The power of Big Data: 90% of the data in the world today has been created in the last two years alone
When everything from jet engines to soft drink vending machines to car seats have sensors in them, we will see an explosion of data the likes of which we’ve never seen before.
The best part according to me is that, instead of using devices to deliberately measure our activity in the world, perhaps sensors could pick up our activity and measure it as we move through the world and interact with various sensors. In other words, world around us gains the ability to perceive us, rather than wearable sensors trying to figure out what’s going on in our environment by taking a continuous measure of us.
For all the technology we have today, it’s still hard for us to answer many questions and it seems sensors will change that.
