Argos launches voice shopping service, ‘Voice Shop’ 20,000 products using Google Assistant

Google Assistant can now search for Argos products and reserve them for its “click and collect” service for same-day pick up from more than 850 Argos stores. You can also ask it to locate a nearby store “OK Google, ask Argos to find my nearest store”. Simply by saying, “Hey Google, ask Argos,” customers will be able to check product availability, reserve and buy thousands of products using only their voice. The move brings voice shopping to UK customers directly through Google Assistant on Google Home smart speakers and on millions of Android smartphones.

It is the first retailer in the UK to offer a shopping service via the Google Assistant platform.

  1. P Schmied … Least used…. For now. I think that this is going to be a Massive market. Argos have done well to be amongst the first.


    Think about how much you use voice now compared to say 3 years ago. Voice is quicker and easier than typing,


    OK Google, get me some toothpaste…..


    Whoever has the best, most developed skill will make a killing 😉

  2. Voice shopping is the least frequently used feature of intelligent speakers, and has been a HUGE disappointment to Amazon which was counting on a surge in revenue from Echo.
