2021: A Year In Review

2021 was a year unlike any other. A great reshuffle, a moment in the history, where all of us are rethinking not just how we work and live, but why we work. The net result of the pandemic is it was a significant disruption, and with disruption comes an opportunity. The latest market forecast says, by 2022, 55% of American households will own a smart speaker.

With another year coming to an end, and we couldn’t be more excited for the future. But before we close the door on the inspiring, swirling, year that was 2021, let’s take a quick look back to reflect and celebrate the changes that made it special.

I’m writing to you to say thanks. While this is an incredible achievement for us, it is, more importantly, a reflection of our community. And there’s one thing that shines a bit brighter than the rest: the community. It’s pretty unusual for a Hardware/Software like Google Home/Assistant to have a community that’s as warm and helpful as you all, and we’re so grateful that you’re a part of it. So on the behalf of them, I would like to thank all of our community members/followers around the world, who play a key role in the community by supporting, inspiring and helping other fellow members.

With every feature or product launch, poll, I/O session, and piece of content published here, our goal remains the same: to help you increase your value from Google Assistant and related products, transform the lives of your family, and ensure you get the most out of your time with us.
